UX/UI case study
Auction management dashboard

StreamBid is a SaaS startup that provides disruptive and engaging online auction products to auction houses worldwide. As a part of our live auction software package, we implemented a dashboard to allow auction houses to upload lots, register bidders and manage auctions seamlessly and efficiently.
Project
Overview
01
The problem
Auction houses need a way to manage their live auctions through an easy-to-use dashboard.
02
The goal
Provide StreamBid's clients (auction houses) with an online dashboard tailored to their specific needs.
03
My role
While developing the auction dashboard I was the main UX/UI product designer.
04
Responsibilities
Interview users, identify pain points and define solutions; create mockups and prototypes and iterate them.
User Research
The user research we conducted for this project was predominantly qualitativeas we wanted to create a product tailored specifically to the needs of our two main clients. Initially, we assumed the main feature of the dashboard had to be a calendar which let the users overview and manage the scheduled online auctions. Nevertheless, after interviewing our end users, we discovered the main need was a tool for quickly adding, removing and changing lots and bidders' details.
Pain points
- •
The client's current dashboard doesn't allow auction employees to upload lots in bulk.
- •
Changing details about a lot or a specific bidder takes long and is frustrating.
- •
Auction house employees are not able to change bidders' paddle limits during the live auction.
- •
Auction houses don't have a way to get data and statistics from ended live auctions.
